Private Home in Tivon

Architecture and Interior Design, Tivon, 2011

Preparations, specifications and permits: Ella Lesnik
Landscape design: BO Landscape

This two-story house is located on the slopes of the eastern hills of Kiryat Tivon facing the Jezreel Valley, in Israel’s majestic north. The house perimeter was designed to extend beyond its actual bounds so as to enclose the experience of the outdoors and lend a sense of spaciousness. Planned with careful attention to their orientation, the larger openings grant views of the expansive landscape beyond and invite observation of the changing seasons. Although natural light and ventilation are prominent features of the entire house, it is possible to control these factors with minimal effort. The house benefits from a pleasant climate much of the year. Other windows are more subtly located, emerging from closets and offering surprising glimpses of the outside looking in and from the inside looking out. Overall, most of the elements defining the interior of the house are designed to merge with the architecture as part of one holistic concept of space.
