The project crosses the historical center of the town of Gedera, established in 1884 by members of the Bilu pioneer association, and functions as an outdoor open museum extension to the Gedera historical museum. Since most of the documentary material of the project consisted of personal photographs and artifacts from the Bilu members’ homes, the idea was to echo the language of their living rooms, bringing it outdoors into the public domain. Therefore, the whole exhibit is arranged around outdoor custom-made home furniture such as dressers, coffee tables and framed pictures on the street walls of the historical town.
