Time is of the Essence
Experimental Project/Clock Design, 2019
The clock, made of hundreds of pages cut from discarded books, as an expired cultural institution that time has left behind. The raw material was carved, creating the clocks from a world of forgotten stories. Their scale depends on the book measurements. The clocks were digitally designed and cut with contemporary laser technology. Manual labor was used to layer and bind the papers into a delicate steel structure, in order to pack the new object afresh.
